We aren’t just green on St. Patty’s Day

Serendipity Education has always approached our carbon footprint responsibly. We are a proud member of Local First Arizona; and we a passionate about working with other local businesses. What does that rhetoric mean?

On one level it means we frequent a lot of local thrift stores. Why would we spend $10 for a plastic display stand at an office supply store when we can get one for $1 at a thrift store? Tables, chairs, table cloths, utility signs, office supplies like staplers and hole punches have all found new homes at the SCIL.

It also means as we look for space we are asking the difficult questions? What kind of flooring was used? What kind of paint? We are also looking for something that needs very little renovation. We feel strongly about reducing the amount of waste generated for us to take occupancy.

We are also wanting a place where there is some access to nature. It doesn’t have to be large, perhaps large enough to hold a small bistro table and a few chairs. We want there to be an oasis in the middle of the concrete.

What might you have in your closet that the SCIL might be able to give a home to? Perhaps an art easel or an old laptop.
