We’d like to welcome the Arizona Student Film Festivaland its Festival Director, Gene Ganssle. This is a project of the Phoenix Film Foundation that needs specialized support due to its educational nature.

The Arizona Student Film Festival is open to students that have produced films, videos, documentaries and animation anytime while the filmmaker attended a recognized Arizona public, charter, or private educational institution. Filmmakers may be expected to provide proof of school attendance before advancing.

Students must write, direct, shoot and edit their own work; however they may receive guidance and help from teachers, professionals, and parents. The primary work, however, must be performed by the students. Students may use actors of any age to play different roles. All entries will be showcased at the Arizona Student Film Festival.

We’ll be guiding them with some limited development and volunteer management support through the May 2011 festival.
